The Problem
Litter Beetles, also known as Darkling beetles, are the most common insects in broiler chicken farming. They cause significant losses (damage to structures, heating costs, disease transmission). They are also difficult to reach: adults take refuge in walls and larvae burrow into the ground. But they are vulnerable during migration periods :
- When the temperature drops (after the animals leave).
- When the temperature rises (when heating the building).
